| Benefit | What the document says | Page |
|---|---|---|
| Six-week option | Saga is the only insurer in our set offering a four-week NHS wait as well as a six-week one. On either, if the NHS can treat within that window of the specialist recommending private treatment, you must use the NHS. | 4 |
| Mental health cover | Mental health is included rather than sold as an add-on: up to 28 days a year of in-patient treatment and up to £2,500 a year of out-patient benefits. | 4 |
| Physiotherapy and therapies | Therapists' and acupuncturists' charges are covered up to £2,000 a year — a monetary cap rather than the session limits AXA Health and The Exeter apply. | 4 |
| Hospital lists | Three access tiers: the Saga Countrywide Hospital List, a Saga London Upgrade for central London facilities, and a lower-cost Guided Care route where the insurer directs the choice of specialist. | 2 |
| Cancer cover | Cancer is handled in its own dedicated section with an Extended Cancer Cover option on top, separate from the general rules on recurrent, continuing and long-term treatment. | 2 |

This quotes one document at one point in time, and insurers revise wording at renewal. It is general information rather than advice, and it cannot tell you what Saga would offer you personally — that turns on your medical history and the underwriting you accept.
